MASAGA call for proposals for its 2024 conference is now open. Do you have an idea to share at MASAGA? If yes, we like to know more.
We are seeking proposals to share valuable insights into developing or using games and simulations, share both your successes, the lessons learned and practical takeaways. Your contribution can help shape the future of learning.

Available Speaking Options

There will be 3 types of presentations available at the MASAGA 2024 conference:

Plenary Session

Presenters will share concepts where games and simulation have been effectively used. This may include case studies, design principles with examples, application of methodologies or proof of theory that would empower the audience to incorporate those ideas for their games or simulations.

The session may include a lecture, however it has to be presented with stories of application and findings. Being a conference on games and simulation, presenters are welcome to share their ideas through any interactive means that will enable the audience to experience the ideas presented.

Time allocation:
Case study or Theory presentation:
30 minutes or 45 minutes

Interactive presentation with audience involvement:
90 minutes

Breakout Session

Participants for this session will be around 20-30 persons.These are purely hands-on sessions for presenters to conduct game play of one or more games, test a new game, receive feedback and explore with the audience on other ways to use the game or simulation. These can be existing games with a fresh perspective. 

The session should focus on game play and discussion about design considerations. Best would be to encourage more open discussions and Q&A.

Interactive hands-on experience and discussion:
90 minutes

Workshop Session

his session is to provide an immersive, interactive learning experience where presenters can deeply engage participants in the development, implementation and analysis of games and simulations. These sessions should offer a comprehensive exploration of specific tools, techniques or concepts related to the use of games and simulations in learning. The workshop must also involve practice or prototyping. 

Time allocation:
2 hours or 3 hours

Proposal Submission Guidelines

You may submit more than 1 proposal by completing a separate application for each

Proposals should be around the theme: Play to Learn; and the philosophy of transforming learning through games and simulations.

Include a summary of your presentation, highlighting key takeaways for attendees.

Share your experiences, including both successful strategies and lessons learned from challenges.

Emphasize practical applications and actionable insights that attendees can implement.
