Syariffanor believes that game development parallels playing a game itself, requiring creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. She asserts that games should be viewed as more than entertainment; they are solutions that promote interaction, collaboration, and inclusion.
Psychological Safety and Learning Effectiveness in Game-based Learning
Psychological safety in the usage of games-based learning is paramount to enable learners to feel free from judgment and ridicule. The session will delve into vital components of an effective learning experience. Creating a non-judgmental and supportive environment to enhance learning outcomes. Followed by the crucial role of proper instruction in establishing a safe learning space. The session will also shed light on the essential characteristics and capabilities of facilitators, equipping them to cultivate the necessary psychological safety for optimal learning experiences.

Simulation holds promising potential as a dynamic and innovative approach to shaping and refining public policy to ensure informed decision-making and policy experimentation with real-world implications. This session will center around an exploration of diverse tools created to engage with different facets of public policy. The session will focus on the various tools that were built to engage with different aspects of public policy. Some examples will be shared with the attendees on the various tools that are built, the process of building it and experiences from its implementation.

Playtest Session – The Lost City of Atlantis
Embark on an exhilarating gamified journey focused on decision-making and leadership skills in an adventurous quest for the Lost City of Atlantis. In this experience, participants become part of a submarine crew, navigating challenges like securing objectives, consolidating information, crisis management, and resilience. The session fosters teamwork, as participants collaborate with leaders in their respective roles while keeping their eyes fixed on the ultimate goal. Note: This session is currently in the Ideation Phase and is subject to further development.

MiroQuest: The Virtual Adventure Race
Witness how game-based learning can be done virtually using digital whiteboards without programming knowledge. Participants will be witnessing The Virtual Adventure Race! Inspired by the famous TV show, Amazing Race. This immersive team activity will transport participants across continents with problem-solving challenges. The session is intended to uncover the power of virtual games in unifying teams, fostering collaboration, and forging new connections with fellow participants. This session will inspire and provide ideas on how such a tool can be used to deliver content in a fun and engaging way.

The game is also used as a capacity-building tool among students of public policy and planning to speak about concepts of city planning and governance.
